Beyonce Knowles will always be one step ahead of the press to keep her personal life under wraps - because she’s already accustomed to the tricks of the trade.

The Irreplaceable singer is reportedly engaged to rapper Shawn ‘Jay-Z’ Carter - but Knowles insists the media will be the last to hear about any developments in her love life.

She tells U.S. magazine Vibe, “I keep my personal life to myself and it is what it is. And even my personal life - because I don’t talk about it - people try to start things to make me talk about it.

“They say, ‘Oh well, if we say something’s going wrong, then maybe she’ll talk about it, and then we’ll get to find out.’ But I’m smarter than that - I already know the tricks!”
